After

The finished version uses warmer highlights, stronger separation in the distant ridges, and deeper foreground color. The subject and composition remain unchanged.

Judge more than intensity

Check skin tone, highlight detail, shadow detail, and whether the main subject remains clear. Reduce filter strength when color begins to distract from the photograph.
